Rad Artist!

I just found an artist I like from the North Shore. Her name is Christie Shinn. I'm sure those of you who live over there already know about her...but I just discovered her art! She does skate and surfing art. I have really been in the mood to paint lately....and her work is inspiring me. I like it because she paints locations(and people) that I am familiar with...like surf spots and the Cholo's bowl. Rad! Check her out here!

Here are some paintings I like!

Loving the Leaves

I seriously forgot what I was missing in Hawaii. It was worth it..but I forgot how much I love the leaves in the fall! They are so fun and nostalgic. I want to sleep in a bed of leaves. Delmer had tons of fun!

A Day Trip

We took a day trip today to a little town called Walla Walla. Heard of it? We actually really really liked the town. It's on the list for "places to apply for grad school". Woooooopdeeeedoooo!

It had a cool downtown...a chill board shop and the best pizza ever! Plus..there were lots of old brick buildings. It had a laid back feel...an aspect that draws me.

I wish I took more pictures of the buildings!!!! Oh well...next time
Wooden doors feel like a fairy tale (this is part of the school)
One of my friends made a chair like this and I have been wanting to make one for a loooong time! And of course we also stopped by the local skate park...(Pic from skatewallawalla.org)

Day trips are super! I love seeing new places and watching people with their little lives in their little towns. Everywhere I go I find some place that seems cool which makes me wonder how many neat towns there are in the world that I would just love. Sometimes I get frustrated that I can't live everywhere. ha!

Our little sock monkey

Sock monkey Delmer!!! I was so excited to put this on him for over a month!
Cousin ballerina Lydia and Delmer with the huge pumpkin that was grown in the Kessie backyardThe pirates and their monkey! Del's first trick or treat at Grandma and Papa Kessie's with the bag I made him. A week before Halloween Delmer did a super job of cleaning this pumpkin out for us!!!
We had a fun Halloween! A few days after Delmer even snuck into the candy bucket and ripped a hole in the skittles wrapper with his razor sharp teeth and tried one for himself! Peas weren't very sweet after that!

Vintage toys and a new room

We just recently moved Delmer into his own room. It was probably harder for me to put him in another room than it was for him! I am so attached to our little dude.

I am growing a fondness for vintage toys! We were looking through Jared Zane's old toy box and we found lots of his stuffed animals from when he was a child. So fun! He used to collect monkeys...so we are now decorating Delmer's room with Jared's old monkeys (and other things).

My favorite toy
I love this monster...and the wind up bear is so cuddlyDelmer pushes this old school skateboard all around the room. He's so excited to stand up on it!

To top things the monkey theme off I won the sock monkey hat giveaway from The Coterie blog made by Marmalade Baby. I am so excited!!

Vintage toys don't even have to try...they are just awesome.....

Speaking of vintage toys..has anyone seen the toys that Target is selling lately? They are bringing back toys from when we were kids, which is super rad!

Growing like a weed!

In the words or Great-Grandma Kessie...Delmer "is growing like a weed!" I can't believe he turned 9 months yesterday! This means he has now been in the world as long as he was in my belly. Ha! Unbelievable! I love my little Del. His top 4 teeth are all growing in so he is in a little pain these days!
Also, Happy Birthday to my dear sister Melanie! Her b-day was also yesterday. She is so inspirationally awesome and I miss her tons. I can't believe she is 19! Well actually I can, but time does fly! The 28th is a popular day for B-days in our family!

Cheese is good

Especially Tillamook Cheese!
The farmer and the Del, the farmer and the Del...hi ho the dairy oh the farmer and the Del!
Watching the process of cheese being made is the weirdest/coolest thing ever. The Tillamook Cheese Factory was great! We got to eat as much cheese as we wanted, and it was a great excuse to have ice cream for breakfast! This was the last major stop we made before reaching our destination in Washington!
