Gearhart Summer 2014

We went to Gearhart, Or last week, and came back home with a baby. Here our some pictures of our trip before little Atticus arrived. :)

I just love magical paths to the beach. There is always so much suspense and excitement that lead up to that moment of getting that first glimpse of the ocean.
The water was collllld, but the kids did not care and ran right into the salty sea. I think they all ended up soaked from head to toe in freezingness before we could even put on swimsuits!.

 Misty morning walks

 Everyone loves Papa!
We felt so lucky to encounter these two! We thought for sure they would run from us, but instead they came closer to get a peek! Aaah

OH June, I love your smiles and your crazy, sandy beach hair.
When these 3 were little ones I knew that someday they would be a great team. They had so much fun together and I loved watching them play.
We are so grateful for the memories we make at the beach house each year. It is such a fun tradition!

I will post soon about Atticus' welcome to the world

Memorial Day

We took a little day trip for Memorial Day. We visited Palouse Falls, and decided to stop by Washtucna to visit the grave site of Jared Zane's Grandparents. It was neat to see all of the flags flying. June kept asking about the gravestones, and what they were. Now she keeps asking me if I am alive. I think she is trying to figure out what it means to "not be alive anymore".

Delmer enjoys walking through graveyards. We used to walk by one regularly in Vancouver, and he would always ask if we could go through it. He wanted me to read him all of the names. Looking at the different names, and thinking about the lives once lived brings a peaceful feeling. I wonder if he feels it.

I just love this picture from Memorial Day 4 years back. Time flies!

Palouse Falls :)

I love waterfalls!

Here are some recent pictures. Hooray! I just realized that this was sitting in my drafts folder from a month ago. We went on a quick trip to Vancouver to visit a few friends. I am missing the green luscious land over there. I even miss the rain! I never thought I would miss rain, but it has such a refreshing feel!

Haha cheesy smiles

Playing by the river

This is from almost a month ago. I am happy to say that there are now more leaves on the trees! The river is a refreshing way to start the day though. :) The trails were empty so we were going down a tiny hill and enjoying the morning. It is easier for me to leave the house earlier in the morning than it is later...so June is still in her pajamas.

Hello January

The Oregon Coast is one of our favorite places. We escaped here last week to bring in the new year. We found a perfect cove that stopped the wind. It was actually pretty warm!! (for January on the Oregon Coast) The ocean air makes me whole!!   Happy 2014!!
